It seemed to be the first time I realized that life was too short to seek perfection that was impossible in my family life. That giving in to the helter-skelter of daily living is truly where I'll find my joy. When I slip, I still have to remind myself of this. There are so many blogs out there that pressure mom's with perfection on many levels, both domestically and spiritually. I pressure myself enough all ready. I need to learn more to let the day go on and on, to trust a Sovereign God. To be okay with the fantasy I think will make me happy not happening and realize that the day is bringing me exactly what God has for me.
It's about the struggle, and being okay with it. It's about struggling to communicate with my teenage daughter, being okay that my tomboy won't dress up but prefers t-shirts and converse shoes (even on Sunday when my pride wishes she would parade around like the rest of the "dolls"), and learning how to cherish my baby and still push him to become a man. Only through knowing that everything's in kilter can I live the day like a wild and free child. A child of God, expectant of His fulfilling promises. | The FamilySo they are no longer two but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let not man separate.”
